Shasta College
Shasta College is a community college located in Redding. Shasta College’s Health Sciences Division offers numerous training programs for those looking to start a health career. Programs include: Associate Degree in Nursing, Vocational Nurse, Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide, Dental Hygiene, Health Information Technology, Health Information Management, Medical Assistant, Medical Scribe, and Physical Therapist Assistant. Shasta College also offers a variety of Associate Degrees for those interested in transferring to a four year university.

Institute of Technology - Redding
Institute of Technology is a technical training school that specializes in a wide array of career training programs. At the Redding campus, you can receive the professional knowledge and skills you need to successfully launch your new career in one of today’s growing fields.
Programs include:
Nursing Assistant, Medical Billing and Office Administration, Pharmacy Technician, Physical Therapist Assistant, Massage Therapy, Professional Medical Assistant, and Vocational Nursing.

Chico State
California State University Chico is a public university located in Chico California with an extension in Redding California. Chico state offers a wide variety of health and health care related undergraduate programs including:
Nursing, Kinesiology, Biology, Nutrition, Psychology, Social Work, Health Services Administration, Health Education, and Public Health.

Simpson University
Simpson University is a private christian university located in Redding California with undergraduate programs in Biology, Psychology, and Nursing. They also offer a graduate level Master’s in Arts in Counseling Psychology.

SCHC Future Primary Care Workforce Scholarship
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in college or graduate program and actively pursuing a medical career (MD/DO, NP, PA and Dentists Only).
- Graduated from a Shasta County high school.
- Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0.
- Has a compelling interest in returning to Shasta County after program completion to provide primary health care to the medically underserved.
Open Application Window: November – March, annually

SMART Workforce Center Student Services
Each year SMART workforce center sponsors 18-24 aged students to attend school. Participating students enroll in SMART’s case management services and receive support including partial tuition and schooling material support. Slots are limited and enrollment is currently open until June 30. COMPADRE College Virtual Prep Series
COMPADRE College is an outreach program and webinar series for high school, undergraduate, and post-graduate students interested in serving rural and medically underserved communities as physicians.
These webinars will focus on:

early exposure to medical professions, professional identity development, and academic strategy for high school students with outreach events and hands-on activities.

guiding and preparing undergraduate/post-graduate pre-medical students through the medical school application process with workshops on different aspects of the medical school application and admissions process.
Shasta Health Rock Stars Scholarship Fund
Eligibility Criteria:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or graduate program (pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree).
- Must have graduated from high school in Shasta County or are currently attending College in Shasta County.
- 3.0 minimum GPA (most recent four semesters completed).
- Must demonstrate financial need (verification required).
- Has compelling interest in returning to Shasta County after program completion to support health to the medically underserved.
